In construction, there is a sequence of events that must occur one before the other to arrive at the finished product. Each one of those steps requires planning and preparation. The storied nightmare of projects sitting for weeks with nothing happening is the result of a failure in foresight on the part of the contractor.

At Dakota Dawn, we know that we need to look ahead at not only what is to be done, but what has to be ordered to do it. We know that subcontractors get busy, suppliers run out of stock and even municipal inspectors get overbooked. So we have established a planning process that is based upon a "Critical Path".

This path follows from the start to the completion of each individual construction procedure. And it tracks, in particular, those procedures that line up, one after the other, to determine when the project will be complete.

We use a sophisticated project scheduling program that allows us to set dates for each and every aspect of the job from calling for the marking of utilities through the final inspections. We are able to insert the lead times required for each aspect of the work so that we can be sure each material and each worker is there when they are needed.

We know you will like our friendly people. But we also no that you will want us out of your house as soon as possible. As much as we know we will like you too, we are happy to oblige.

Team

We do not know it all... but there are a lot of us.

Construction practices, materials and procedures are constantly changing. At Dakota Dawn, we have a team of Project Superintendents, Schedulers and Master Carpenters that lead the way. They have seen or done nearly every type of residential construction procedure there is. And they have ready access to any added technical expertise they may require from our design department.

Our subcontractors are part of the TEAM as well. The average length of association with subcontractors is approaching ten years. Each of these corporate TEAM members has been schooled in the Dakota Dawn way. We have carefully written directions for everything from material handling through appropriate language on the site.

We work hard to insure that everyone understands our singular goal of making each and every Dakota Dawn client a happy and satisfied member of the Dakota Dawn Fan club.

Quality

Quality is a mindset. It begins with a clear vision for everyone involved in a project and ends with implementation.

At Dakota Dawn, the message is repeated and repeated till it is part of the fabric of the entire company. The client is given the opportunity to select the products that finish the project. Certainly he/she can make their own determination about how much they want to spend on some of the finish pieces (with DDD designers offering appropriate background information). But the process is one that targets a quality process and product from start to finish.

The Design process targets the first feature of quality, focusing the financial resources on what is of primary importance to the client. As decisions are made, each client is made aware of the factors that make each material more a less appropriate for the client's needs. What you want for what you want to spend is the target and the essence of quality.

The Construction process focuses on the follow through. Building it as promised if not better is our goal on each project. When we are finished, we want of come back for only one reason. To do another project for you.
